Worldbuilding Works
One of my favorite aspects of storytelling is worldbuilding. Especially in high fantasy and science fiction stories, the world is a meta-narrative, a larger story being told in the backdrop of whatever actual plot is playing out in the foreground. And this takes another step up in complexity when multiple works connect to each other, weaving together an atmospheric story in multiple parts, seen through the windows of different lives, different stories, over tens or even hundreds of years. Compiled below is a list of itertextual fictional universes that I have an eye on, be it something that I'm already invested in, or one that I'd like to read more into in the future.
